I own a Genie Excelerator opener. the control board is now bad. Can I just replace the head, what should I do. I have had this for a very long time and it still works great, it is screw drive. I my self wanted to load a new opener button, I think I pressed to hard, I was told by a friend who looked at it he said it is bent. so now I do not have the new button. Thank You Dennis Atkins
You can replace the circuit board in the Genie Excelerator. It sounds like you are referring to the older Excelerator series. You can check the parts out for those here (click here). If you are looking for a new remote, you can add any of our current Genie garage door opener remotes, they are all Intellicode models. If you are trying to replace the whole unit, you can do that as well, but the old rail is not going to work with the new powerhead, so you will need to install the new rail that comes with it.
I have a Powermax 1200 (model 3062) that stopped working suddenly. Going through the troubleshooting steps, I believe that the circuit board is bad. Since a replacement circuit board costs nearly as much as a new unit, I was searching for a new 3062. However, it appears that this model has been discontinued. Is that true? If so, what model can I purchase where I can simply replace the Powerhead and keep the rest of the existing system including the rail system?
All of the current Genie screw drive model garage door openers would use the same screw drive rail as the 3062 model.
