What is a smart garage door opener?
A smart garage door opener is a garage door opener that is connected to the internet. The garage door opener connects to your home’s Wi-Fi signal and allows you to control and monitor the status of your garage anywhere from your smartphone. 
What is Aladdin Connect?
At Genie, our smart home garage door system is called Aladdin Connect. The free Aladdin app allows you to view the status of your garage door to see if it is opened or closed. With the press of a button, you can close or open your garage door. Receive notifications for when the status of your door changes. You can also setup custom rules. For example, you can set your door to automatically close every evening after 10pm. Or you can send a virtual key to a dog walker to allow access to your garage every afternoon between 10am-2pm. The possibilities are endless!
Many Genie garage door openers feature integrated Aladdin Connect. For most garage door openers made after 1993 that do not have smartphone capabilities, did you know you can add an Aladdin Connect retrofit kit? The retrofit kit works with most brands of garage door openers. Make your garage door opener “smart!”
How does a smart garage door opener add safety to my home?

Okay, I think my cousin should check out this article because his garage doors are getting more unbearable lately because of the constant creaking sound they make. I love the fact that a smart door can be opened from a distance through remote control.
