Genie Aladdin Connect NOW Works with Amazon Alexa And Google Assistant!

We have exciting NEWS for our Genie Aladdin Connect Smart Garage Door Openers and Controller! They are now even smarter! Aladdin Connect is now compatible with the most popular smart home platforms including Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa.

Expanding our smart home integrations with Aladdin Connect while others are restricting theirs, puts you in control of the security of your home.  The award-winning Aladdin Connect App already provides many great features such as time-based rules and virtual keys that make the lives of homeowners more secure and convenient!  With these new integrations, you can now access the Aladdin Connect Smart Garage Door Opener by using the Aladdin Connect Garage Door Opener App, through the Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa speakers and home automation devices with more coming soon.

The smart home technology that you use all over the home with your lights, or your thermostat can now be used in the garage, with the Genie Aladdin Connect and now you have an Alexa smart garage door opener or an Google Assistant smart garage door opener! No additional devices are needed to be able to use your favorite smart home platform of Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant with Genie Aladdin Connect.  If you have a Genie garage door opener with integrated Aladdin Connect, you simply just need to link your Aladdin Connect App to the smart home app of your choice.  If you have the Aladdin Connect add-on kit, guess what?  The process is just as easy, no repeaters or add-on bridges to make smart home and Aladdin Connect work together.

These new features with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are NOW available for new and existing Aladdin Connect users.  The Aladdin Connect FREE downloadable App is FREE to use and makes having control and piece of mind over your garage door much easier!  Your existing Genie Aladdin Connect garage door opener now becomes an Alexa smart garage door opener, or a Google Assistant smart garage door opener!

I have an Aladdin Connect opener, and also have the app on my phone. I also have Google Home and Google Assistant App on my phone, logged in with same user id. I tried to follow your instructions to link Google Home to Aladdin Connect but Aladdin Connect is not listed in the the available services in Google Home or Assistant. So Step 1 and 2 in you document (https://www.geniecompany.com/data/products/aladdinconnect/Smart-Home-Voice-Control-Instructions_Google.pdf) is not valid or not working as mentioned. Can you help?

    Hi Charlie,
Google just released their smart home for garage door openers on 05/07. We released our Custom Skill prior to that date, however we are working on the compatibility with the Google smart home for garage door openers.

i just got my Aladdin Connect integrated with my Google Assistant and can now use it with my Google Home products including Lenovo Smart Display, Google Home, and
Google Home Minis. While functional, the voice commands seem awkward especially when comparing to some of my other devices like lights which are more integrated with the Google Home App as opposed to the Google Assistant App.
Is there any intention to add Aladdin Connect as a “Works with Google” linked service in the Google Home App ? This is what I thought I was buying and that the Aladdin Connect would work in a similar manner to my smart Wi-Fi light switches and plugs.

    Hi @Robert Bartenstein,
To fix this you can go back to the original setup for Google (the screen where you give Google your Aladdin Connect Login info and set the PIN). On that screen you can set a new PIN and as long as you remember it , it will work. If you need any more help, please call us at 1-866-599-4995.

    Hi Bradley,
Thank you for your interest in using Google with your Aladdin Connect. You will need to download both the Google Home and Google Assistant Apps. Once you are logged into both Apps you will link to the Aladdin Connect App through Google Assistant. Here are the instructions:https://www.geniecompany.com/data/products/aladdinconnect/Smart-Home-Voice-Control-Instructions_Google.pdf , and if you scroll to the second page there are screen shots to walk you through the steps. If you need more assistance we can walk you through this over the phone at 1-866-599-4995. Thank you!

    Hi Robb B,
If you are referring to Google Assistant in order to setup and link to Aladdin Connect you will need to be logged in to both the Google Home and Google Assistant App, and you will link to the Aladdin Connect custom skill through the Google Assistant App, instructions with screenshots can be found here; https://www.geniecompany.com/data/products/aladdinconnect/Smart-Home-Voice-Control-Instructions_Google.pdf

I have an Aladdin Connect opener, and also have the app on my phone. I also have Google Home devices, and that app too. I tried to follow your instructions to link Google to Aladdin Connect, but they do not match Google Home’s app. There is no “updates” button in the app. I have also attempted to link a service I have already set up, but Aladdin Connect is not listed in the the available services. It seems more work on integration needs to be done.

I am not able to set this up using the provided instructions. It’s not found as an available service.

I have entered the wrong PIN too many times and now Google keeps telling me to change the PIN by unlinking and rekindling Aladdin Connect but I can’t figure out how to do this.
