Can I use two CR2016 batteries in place of a CR2032 battery for my G3T remote?
No, this remote uses the CR2032 battery.

I have a Genie model #B8Q 315390T and it won't work with a new battery. I've put a 2032A in with the + sign facing the motherboard, doesn't work. Followed your type A instructions and it doesn't open the garage door, tried the + sign facing up, still doesn't work. If you would be so kind as to tell me what I'm doing wrong

The GICT390 remote takes the CR2032 coin cell battery. There is a slot on the side of the remote, using a coin turn the coin in the slot to pry open.

Coin Cell Battery (34472B) Replacement Instructions for Genie Garage Door Opener Remotes
Choose the type of Genie Intellicode remote that you have, then follow the instructions below. If you have a newer style remote, the instructions can be found on that specific remotes product page.
Instructions:
TYPE A:
- Pull firmly on visor clip to release.
- Remove small phillips head screw on the back of remote control.
- Use a small flat head screwdriver, working along both sides, pry rear cover loose between the cover seam.
- Push coin cell battery out of the holder (see below)
- Replace with a new battery making sure that the battery is oriented correctly. Positive side(+) UP. (see below)
- Snap the two halves of the remote control back together and replace the screw & visor clip.
TYPE B:
- Push on corners of the docking station to release remote control, and remove keychain ring. (If Applicable)
- Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry rear cover loose. Use the provided slots at the seam corners to pry remote control open.
- Push coin cell battery out of the holder. (see below)
- Replace with a new battery making sure that the battery is oriented correctly. Positive side(+) UP. (see below).
- Snap the two halves of the remote control back together and snap remote back into the dock.
NOTE: Some types of these remote controls will have a DUAL FREQUENCY SWITCH on the side. (see below). Be careful not to lose this small selector switch during disassembly and reassembly.
TYPE C:
- Pull firmly on visor clip to release (If Applicable). Remove keychain ring. (If Applicable)
- Remove small phillips head screw on the back of remote control. (If Applicable)
- Use a small flathead screwdriver to pry rear cover loose. Use the provided slot(s) at the seam corners to pry remote control open.
- Push coin cell battery out of the holder. (see below)
- Replace with a new battery making sure that the battery is oriented correctly. Positive side(+)UP. FIG. 1.
