Genie's Aladdin Connect® Smart Garage Door Openers Now Integrate With Google Home

Genie Aladdin Connect works with Google Home

The Genie Company, has announced the integration with Google’s smart home platform, providing interoperability with hundreds of smart home devices for the Aladdin Connect® smart garage door opener. The Google smart home lets users control connected devices through the Google Home® app and the Google Assistant®, which is available on more than 1 billion devices such as smart speakers, phones, cars, TVs, headphones, watches, and more. Given that the majority of single-family homeowners with garages use the garage as the primary access point for the home, a voice interface to open or close the door and check whether the door is open or closed simplifies the user experience for leaving and returning home.

With the new Aladdin Connect smart home skill compatibility for Google Home, customers can now use their voice to control Aladdin Connect garage opener by speaking commands directly to their Google Home Speaker. For example, customers may now ask “Hey Google, open my garage door”. To take advantage of the new smart home skills, existing customers will need to enable the new Aladdin Connect smart home which may require the customers to re-link the Aladdin Connect account.

Google Assistant is an artificial intelligence-powered virtual assistant developed by Google that is primarily available on mobile and smart home devices. Unlike the company's previous virtual assistant, Google Now, the Google Assistant can engage in two-way conversations.

The Google assistant asked me to sign into the app. When I signed in it asked for pin. I put a pin in, but it said it was the wrong pin. Found out on another forum that if your pin starts with a 0 as mine did for some reason it won’t work. Tried it again didn’t say the 0, but said the rest of pin and “Bam” it worked.Again the pin I used I made up on the first time tried to connect the opener with my Google assistant, not one I found anywhere else. Hope that helps.

How do you create a PIN for Google Home integration?
Is that in Aladdin, or Google?

My Google Home use to able to open my garage door with password. It is not working now. It said the password is not correct. How to fix it?

Allen

@ Mark Poznan- The PIN is a Google Garage Door Smart Home Skill Requirement and cannot be disabled. Google requires the PIN for both open and close.
