What size battery does it take as mine is not working. It is old black one. I cannot get battery cover off.
Both of the Genie Black Keypads used a standard 9-Volt battery.

How do I remove the battery cover to install a new battery
You would press in and push down on the existing cover. Then once removed, slide new cover up in its place until fully closed.

Can this be picked up at a Genie store?
No, this part is extremely old which means it is probably only available online (through this site).
