HomeLink® System Programming for Genie® garage door openers
Clearing the HomeLink system happens by pressing and holding the first and third buttons down for about 20 seconds or until the indicator on the HomeLink blinks fast. Then release both HomeLink buttons 1 and 3. You only need to clear the HomeLink from your car if you do not have an unused button or this is a pre-owned car that may have a previous owners garage door opener installed.
Programming the car's HomeLink using your Genie garage door opener remote
- Choose the button on your HomeLink that you want to use to open your garage door and have a Genie garage door opener remote that currently operates your garage door nearby.
- Make sure that there are no obstructions, people, or animals in the path of the garage door since it will move during programming.
- While holding the button on your remote also hold down the Homelink button that you wish to have operate your Genie garage door opener.
- The HomeLink light will start flashing slowly, then it will begin to blink fast, when it blinks fast, release both the HomeLink button and the button on your Genie garage door opener remote.
- Find the learn or program (PGRM) button on your Genie garage door opener
- Hold down the learn or program button until the small LED turns on.
- Release the PRGM or Learn button and the larger LED light will begin to blink

My remotes for my genie garage door opener are broken. I just want to train the garage door opener to my infinite without using remotes. Is this possible?
Trying to program to Ford 150 2020 to Intelcode model acsr3 !!! Any instructions
I am trying to program Homelink in a 2019 Ford Ranger Pickup to a 20 year old Genie Pro Max opener. Model appears to be a ACSCTG Type 3. FCC ID is B8QACSCT. I had no trouble pairing a 2016 Ford 3 years ago but this one isn’t pairing. New batteries, cleared the Homelink of all past codes and the old/original remote operates the door properly. I have had no success by using the Learn button on the power head or by ‘training’ with the remote. the Homelink in the car never advances to a rapid blinking or a steady light. Suggestions?
@Michelle, You will need to have a working remote to program your Genie to your Homelink. The remote is used to “train” the Homelink system.
@Joe,
This may be the result of clearing the memory out of the garage door opener, or having a garage door opener with too many devices programmed to it. Your specific unit can have up to 7 wireless devices programmed into it, if you have more than that the receiver may be full and possibly kicking out some of the devices. We recommend clearing the memory by pressing and holding the learn code button down until the learn led quits flashing – this clears the memory completely and will start you fresh. This is the only time you should press and hold the learn button in. After doing this, reprogram the remote (press & release learn button, press button on the remote 3-4 times), from there reprogram both Homelinks and make sure you do not hold the learn code button down at any point of the program. Lastly follow through with programming the keypad. If you need any help, reach out to us at 1-800-354-3643.
